Martinho Pita Studio intertwines art with design, shaping beauty amid nature and artifice, manifested in poetic forms where creativity thrives.

Martinho Pita, a Lisbon-born Portuguese designer, harbors an insatiable curiosity that has driven his creative journey from an early age. Holding a BA in Architecture and the Arts from the esteemed Edinburgh College of Art, Martinho's professional odyssey has taken him through the corridors of influential European Architecture Studios, including stints at MVRDV in Rotterdam and Aires Mateus in Portugal.

Breaking new ground in his career, Martinho ventured to India, where he played a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Incremental Housing Strategy in the Yerawada slums of Pune. Collaborating with organizations like Sparcindia and Urban Nouveau from Sweden, Martinho's work extended to diverse projects such as Connecting-Stockholm and TISA, demonstrating his commitment to innovative and socially impactful design.

With over a decade spent living and working across five countries and traversing the globe, Martinho returned to his roots in Lisbon, driven by a desire to contribute to his community. Co-founding TISA (The Informal School of Architecture), Martinho engaged over 50 multidisciplinary students in revitalizing Cova do Vapor, a historic fishing village on the outskirts of Lisbon.

Fuelled by an ever-evolving creative spirit, Martinho established his eponymous studio, where he collaborates closely with local artisans to blend interior design, product development, and architecture. At Martinho Pita Studio, the focus lies at the intersection of tradition and innovation, crafting bespoke projects and evocative pieces that resonate with soulful craftsmanship.
