Originally from Marseille, Camille Hug grew up surrounded by Mediterranean landscapes, and her ceramic practice allows her to translate the memories and materials that shaped her.

Camille Hug draw inspiration from rock and its reliefs, embracing strength, fragility, density, and porosity. Each one of her creations, situated between sculpture and object, reflects her connection to surrounding territories, from the sunlit Calanques of southern France to the rugged cliffs of the Atlantic coast. She initially worked with earthenware, a clay emblematic of Provence, and over time, her practice evolved toward texture and glazing, revealing raw, mineral surfaces through matte finishes. Each piece engages in a dialogue of material and form, combining architectural rigor with natural freedom, becoming playful, evolving objects that explore our relationship with matter and gesture.
