De La Espada combines artisanal furniture making with rigorous, research-based contemporary design.

At their workshop on Portugal's Silver Coast, De La Espada combines artisanal furniture making with rigorous, research-based contemporary design. Their portfolio of iconic and timeless pieces includes designs by their in-house studio, De La Espada Atelier, as well as collaborations with leading international designers such as Neri&Hu, Manuel Aires Mateus, and Luca Nichetto.

Specializing in woodworking and upholstery, De La Espada also works closely with Portuguese artisans, highlighting their craftsmanship through collaborative projects. Their distinct design language - interdisciplinary, contemplative, and culturally enriched - defines their approach to contemporary luxury, which prioritizes creativity, extensive research, and uncompromising material quality over mass production.

In 2025, De La Espada will further consolidate its role as a creative incubator and research center, producing conceptual pieces in limited editions. At Lisbon by Design, they will debut the first products from this new initiative: a series of sculptural seating designs created in collaboration with Lisbon-based French designer Sam Baron, crafted for collectors seeking works of both technical and artistic significance.
