Studio Farinha | Rosa is a creative studio led by Pedro Farinha and Ana Rosa, who work together and collaborate as two authors. Graduates in architecture and interior design, they bring their vision and expertise to the visual arts, focusing on the exploration of space at both macro and micro levels.
They specialize in abstract painting on various mediums such as paper, linen, cotton, and cardboard, employing collages and a range of techniques to weave narratives that delve into their own memories and those of others. Their work reflects the places they tread upon, belonging both to them and to the collective consciousness. They paint memories and imagined places, exploring the imprints left on the skin as symbols of lived experiences. Although physical journeys may be impossible, they map out emotional and psychological territories through their art.
Their pieces emerge from an ongoing dialogue between them, where they critique, analyze, and create together, negotiating colors and shapes to achieve the desired outcome. They occasionally incorporate words into their paintings as a complementary element to the visual narrative.
Recent collaborations include projects with Quiet Studios for the Rebello Hotel, Maggie Interiores for a serviced apartment complex for Ando Living, and Kema Studio for the Madalena flat, alongside various private collectors.
