Born in Belgium, Geraldine de Lemos discovered her passion for the arts at a young age. Drawing became her favorite pastime, allowing her to express herself fully. She attended Plastic Arts at Saint-Luc, an experience she cherishes as it taught her the importance of self-expression.
At 18, Geraldine decided to specialize in textiles, drawn to the tactile nature of fabrics and the ability to convey her emotions through them. This decision proved to be transformative, fulfilling her artistic aspirations. Alongside her studies, she pursued floriculture for three years, attracted by nature's beauty and the desire for continuous creation.
Upon moving to Portugal, Geraldine fell in love with her family's heritage and the authenticity of the local culture. Surrounded by mountains and vineyards, she felt a strong urge to work with raw materials, particularly clay. This newfound passion for pottery allowed her to reconnect with herself, away from the pressures of perfectionism.
Inspired by her cultural roots and personal experiences, Geraldine's work reflects a blend of tradition and modernity. Each piece is infused with emotions and humanity, as if she pours her soul into the clay, creating a truly original and inspired body of work.
Her atelier, located in her family's villa, serves as a sanctuary where she explores ancient rituals of working with natural fibers, wine, and clay, further enriching her creative process and connection to her heritage.
