Passionate about wood since childhood, it gradually became a central part of Igor de Kerchove's life. From carving with a pocketknife to sculpting with gouges, his work evolved naturally toward furniture, and especially tables. Over time, wood alone was no longer enough. Influenced by his surroundings in Portugal, he began exploring the dialogue between materials. Salt from the ocean, both fragile and strong, became an essential element of his craft.
Through an innovative process, Igor de Kerchove solidifies the salt and combines it with wood, creating pieces that balance geometry and organic movement, ultimately telling a story between earth and ocean.
