Diana Meneses Cunha found a true love for fibers at the age of 40. With a degree in International Relations and with an experience of 20 years in the banking business, in 2015 she learned tapestry weaving and found what would soon become her world.
In early 2016, she created her own brand “Oficina166”. In April 2018, Diana had her first solo exhibition at Galeria do Museu da Carris and again in 2019 at the interior design store Puracal. It is at her studio in Sintra that Diana creates her textile art pieces.
Constantly looking for new materials and creating different designs, Diana’s portfolio goes from decorative tapestries and big natural woven branches, to woven frames and lampshades, embroidered canvas and outdoor woven furniture, using nautical cord. Diana’s pieces are also known for their large scale and size.
Although accepting commissions from private clients (from Portugal, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, UK, USA or Angola), Diana’s main clients come from the hospitality business and interior designers.
You can find some of her art pieces at the well known Bairro Alto Hotel (Lisbon), Hotel Albatroz (Cascais), Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel (Cascais), Vilamonte-Octant Hotel (Algarve), Pure Formosa Hotel (Algarve), Immerso Hotel (Ericeira), Casa Modesta (Algarve), Craveiral Farmhouse (Alentejo), White Exclusive Villas (Açores) and in several boutique hotels and restaurant Tsukiji by Chef Paulo Morais (Lisbon), restaurant Clássico by Olivier (Lisbon), restaurant Blanco Knokke (Belgium) and at Wygroup Holding Head-office (Oeiras).
