Oficina Marques explores a poetic visual language built around five themes—Sea, Wilderness, Body, Faith, and Lisbon—celebrating nature, the physical body, hope, and a renewed Portuguese identity. Characterized by bold colors, patterns, and a balance between geometric precision and organic forms, their practice results in a diverse body of artwork and objects, including wood and ceramic panels, signature ceramics, wooden sculptures, assemblages of found objects, and functional design pieces. With a hands-on, collaborative approach, the studio develops custom projects and international collaborations, all centered in their Lisbon atelier.
Oficina Marques is a multidisciplinary art and design studio founded in 2018 by Gezo Marques and José Aparício Gonçalves, guided by the optimistic motto “Tusa de Viver.”
