Applications are now open for the 7th edition of Lisbon by Design Fair.
From 19 to 23 May 2027, Lisbon by Design Fair will once again bring together a curated selection of designers, artists and craftspeople working across high-end craftsmanship, contemporary and collectible design.
The fair is dedicated to unique pieces, limited editions and exceptional work made or designed in Portugal, bringing together established names and emerging talents within a carefully curated setting.
Lisbon by Design is an annual fair celebrating Portuguese and Portugal-based creative talent, with a particular focus on craftsmanship, collectible design, art and unique or limited-edition pieces.
Each edition is carefully curated to create a dialogue between different disciplines, materials and creative approaches.
The fair welcomes every year a large audience of national and international collectors, interior designers, architects, hospitality professionals and design enthusiasts, while offering participants visibility through our communication, press relations and professional network.
For its 7th edition, Lisbon by Design Fair will bring together 60 designers, artists, makers, studios and galleries, combining established names with a new generation of emerging talent.
Since its creation in 2021, the fair has developed as a platform for discovering and promoting contemporary design and craftsmanship connected to Portugal. Each edition is carefully curated to create a dialogue between recognised designers and new voices, offering emerging talents the opportunity to present their work alongside more established figures.
More than a fair, Lisbon by Design Fair is a platform for designers to present their work, develop their visibility and build meaningful connections with an international network of architects, interior designers, galleries, design professionals, press and collectors. The fair also provides an opportunity to sell work directly, generate commissions and develop new professional collaborations. Previous editions have attracted more than 3,500 visitors each edition, including Portuguese and international collectors, gallery owners and architects and have led to special commissions for participating designers.
Over the years, Lisbon by Design has welcomed many of the leading names and studios shaping Portugal's contemporary design and craft scene, alongside talents first introduced to a wider audience through the fair.

Lisbon by Design takes place at the historic Palacete Gomes Freire, in the heart of Lisbon, offering an exceptional architectural setting in which contemporary works can be discovered and experienced.
The fair occupies the palacete across two floors, together with outdoor areas and additional exhibition spaces, totaling more than 500 m² of exhibition space and allowing projects of different scales and formats to coexist throughout the venue.
Applications are open to designers, artists, craftspeople, studios, collectives and galleries whose work reflects the values and curatorial direction of Lisbon by Design.
We are particularly interested in projects demonstrating:
Applications are reviewed by the Lisbon by Design curatorial team. Selection is based not only on the individual quality of each project, but also on the overall coherence and renewal of the fair's curation.
Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee participation. All applications and proposed projects are subject to approval by the Lisbon by Design team.
Present your work through a dedicated exhibition space and create an environment that fully reflects your creative universe.
Solo Shows are suitable for individual designers, artists, studios, collectives or galleries wishing to present a collection or a more complete body of work.
Spaces are available in different sizes (10 to 40 m²) depending on the nature and scale of the proposed project.
Create a shared exhibition with 2 to 4 participants, bringing together complementary practices around a common theme, scenography or jointly developed project.
The Lisbon by Design team may also suggest potential collaborations when we identify an interesting dialogue between different applicants.
All participants involved in a collaboration must be individually approved by our curatorial team.
Present 1 to 3 selected pieces as part of a collective exhibition curated by Lisbon by Design.
Selected works are brought together within a dedicated space and integrated into a cohesive scenography, offering an accessible format for designers and artists who do not require an individual room.
All pieces are subject to selection and approval by the Lisbon by Design team.

Please note: exhibition spaces are allocated by the Lisbon by Design team according to the nature of each project, availability and the overall coherence of the fair. Applicants may indicate their preferred format or space, but final placement is determined by our curatorial team.
How does it work?
Complete the online application form and tell us about your practice, your work and the project you would like to present at Lisbon by Design.
Our team reviews each application individually, considering the quality of the work, the proposed project, and its relevance within the overall curation of the fair.
Our team will contact pre-selected applicants to discuss the proposed participation format and exhibition space.
Participation is confirmed once the project, allocated space and participation conditions have been approved by both the participant and Lisbon by Design, the participation contract has been signed, and the initial 50% payment has been received.
