Discover Portugal's Creative Scene

The Lisbon by Design Studio Visits experience offers privileged access to the studios of designers, makers and artists shaping Portugal's contemporary design landscape.

From September 2026 to May 2027, members are invited to enjoy seven private studio visits, with one carefully curated visit taking place each month.

Designed as intimate encounters rather than traditional guided tours, these visits offer a rare opportunity to meet designers in their own creative environment, discover their latest work, and gain insight into the stories, techniques and processes behind each collection.

Exceptional Places, Usually Closed to the Public

Each season brings together a carefully selected group of designers, artists and master artisans, all living and working in Portugal.

Many of the studios we visit are private workshops that are not normally open to the public, making each encounter a unique opportunity to step behind the scenes of Portugal's vibrant creative community.

Throughout the season, members discover a rich diversity of disciplines, from ceramics, wood, glass and metal to textiles, furniture, lighting and collectible design.

The full calendar of visits is released in early September, while the featured designer or studio is revealed approximately three weeks before each visit, preserving the excitement of every discovery.

Previous Studio Visits

Over the years, our members have enjoyed exceptional access to some of Portugal's most inspiring creative spaces.

Previous visits have included the studio of renowned Portuguese artist Vhils, the historic Portuguese tile manufacturer Viúva Lamego, as well as the studios of a new generation of internationally recognised designers such as Hamrei, Vasco Fragoso Mendes and Amande Haeghen alongside many remarkable emerging talents and hidden workshops rarely accessible to visitors.

Every season is different, ensuring a fresh programme of discoveries and encounters.

Annual Membership

An annual membership of €250 includes:

  • Access to all seven Studio Visits (September 2026 – May 2027)
  • Invitations to our creative pop-ups and special events
  • Invitations to talks and conversations with designers
  • An invitation to the VIP Opening of the next Lisbon by Design Fair in May 2027
  • Membership in a growing community of collectors, architects, interior designers, creative professionals and design enthusiasts
